The State of 俄亥俄州 and the 俄亥俄州 Department of Higher Education announced Monday, 11月13日, that 伊利湖学院 has been awarded a Choose 俄亥俄州 First grant totaling $1.2 million to support underrepresented students in the critical fields of science, 技术, 工程, 数学, 和医学(STEM).

The Choose 俄亥俄州 First Scholarship is an impactful scholarship program that is designed to strengthen 俄亥俄州’s competitiveness within Science, 技术, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Choose 俄亥俄州 First is part of a strategic effort to encourage 俄亥俄州’s economic strength by ensuring a ready workforce for STEM-related industries.

Eligibility for a scholarship requires being a resident of 俄亥俄州 seeking a certificate, 大专文凭, bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in an eligible STEM discipline, enrolled at a participating college or university, and students who are new to the program of study at the college or university, i.e., currently enrolled in a non-STEM program who decide to transfer/change majors into a STEM program.
